Which piece of writing is best?
Q. Which piece do you prefer? One is more mild and the other is kinda heated with a club atmosphere lol,, don't base your opinion on the preferred genre please! Also,, just ignore the unnecessary cuss words lol. In the book club i wrote the pieces for, you had to include some swear words lol. Okay,, piece one is just a load of extracts: Oh, gross! She'd stepped in something icky. Beyond icky. It squished beneath her foot - a wet, gasping sound. Whatever it was, it was sure to ruin her pony-hair boots. A. I like the first one best personally because party relationships seem pretty shallow and always end up with a mistake that someone regrets. Niether were bad though. The dislike for number two is strictly personal minus the fact that I had a difficult time trying to depict who was actually talking until I re-read it. Number one sounds pretty interesting though! Good names too! I love Geller for a last or first name! Bravo!/Brava!

Q. hey guys I wanna ask how does choreographer remember their dance steps, pattern and combination to create a dance video. I'm curios about that. I wanted learn how they do it. Do they record every single piece? How ? Like playing an instrument there will be a note for you to follow but in dancing how do you tend to memorize these dance moves and be able to show someone else? of course u cant really remember them by heart when u just thought of it. and When will you be able to be comfortable and have fun with your dancing instead of having to worry about the dance moves in a routine. thanks.

A. 1) The word 'icky' put me off the first one immediately 2) You often mess up dialogue tags 3) What is wrong with the word 'said'? 4) The last one seems like a hideous, profanity filled, disgusting mess 5) Your grammar is off throughout I honestly can't tell from the small amounts of text if this should be written as a book or not. It's too short and seems like a draft to me. You need to rewrite these, though.

A. That's quite a list and it looks like you have little time, but you can find probably all of them by individually googling them. Include the word dance before each step or you'll get strange stuff. I've also included below a link to a site I like very much. It covers lots of stuff and has tons of dance instructions. I don't think it will help you now if you just want definitions, but many of the instructors there are excellent and you can learn a lot. As an old guy who learned to dance in junior high, I can tell you knowing how to dance--truly dance like you're clearly learning--has been a wonderful thing for me. Partners appreciate it and it can make you very popular at dance events. Good luck to you.

A dance sort of like the hustle?
Q. Want to know the name of a dance i learned from a club about 10 years ago. its kinda like the hustle right foot tap out 3 times, left foot tap out three times, then you kick your feet in front in a pattern of quick quick slow slow, then you cross as you step to the side twice then turn to do it in the other direction i met a really good dancer in a bar one time and he totally knew what i was doing, he didn't know what it was called either . i was once told it was the new york hustle, but i look that up and all i get is some kind of ballroom stuff. Thanks for any help never mind , i found it, it's called the detroit shuffle it's on you tube

A. Whether this is good or not would depend on your grade level and whether this assignment is required to be written in English or not. If a translation from your language for Internet review, it is pretty good. If this is finished form and to be turned in as an English language report, it needs a lot of work. For instance, your first sentence reads, "In the book Ancient Egypt mentioned about the pharaohs that Egypt was ruled by the pharaohs in the 3100 B.C." This is very confusing as it is improperly worded for an English speaker. It would be better if written thusly, "In the book 'Ancient Egypt', the Pharaohs that ruled Egypt during the era of 3100 B.C. are discussed and examined." Also, the sentence, "In… [cont.]

I'm planning to take my novice in June and was wondering if anyone has some comments from judges they would be willing to share. Also would it be possible to test the Dutch Waltz (yes the first dance test) at the same time or would there be no way I could be ready in time. Asked by Jana - Sat Apr 23 18:23:39 2011 - Ice Skating - 2 Answers - Comments

A. You'd really have to focus in all lessons and practices on the Moves and dances. Knowing the steps is only half the battle in ice dance; unless you have the rhythm and tempo down as well, it would be dicey. Novice moves is a difficult test, but we've had skaters pass the new version on the first try, so it's not impossible. The key criticisms that I've heard coming from the judges are mainly improper patterns and shapes. We were told at the seminars that the loop patterns were NOT to be judged like Figures, but the feedback indicates that the skaters are getting reskates on that pattern if the loop isn't a blade-and-a-half in diameter, perfectly rounded, no lean/tilt, etc. It would be a good drill to practice the Loop Compulsory Figure… [cont.]

Q. Salsa is preformed in clubs all over Orlando, better yet all over this country. Salsa is originally from Cuba, it is blended with spanish intruments as well as African instruments. The dance is sometimes refered to as romantic, or sensual. Salsa is said not to involve to much technique, making it somewhat easy on people ambitious to learn. Salsa is an important dance in Puerto Rico, Cuba, and many latin American countries. It was influenced by many other dances. It actually means ' sauce ' in spanish. Some say hot sauce, I can see why because the dance is energetic and has a spicy flavor to it. Important articles are important for this cultural dance. A. Okay first, half of the punctuations missing. You make the sentences way too long that when I'm reading it, not only am I running out of breath, I can't understand what's happening. You don't explain one part that's happening enough before you jump to the next thing that's happened and it makes it very confusing. Shorter sentences can be just as effective as longer ones e.g. He stopped. You can see from just these two words that he stopped suddenly: it was unexpected. This is only the beginning of your story, so instead of focusing on all the different things that are happening, try to focus on the setting and describing the area around the speaker. When you want to show that someone s stuttering, instead of putting "Whho are you?… [cont.]

Does this sound good so far? (story writing)?
Q. There he was. In all his dark glowing glory, standing against the wall of hottest club in Chicago was Blake. He stood, as he usually did shirtless. Showing off the array of tattoo's that made their way across his toned chest. They showed the art of a punk, the angels of danger, and the curves of wit. Tonight she saw him with a cigarette, not many people saw him with a pack but everyone assumed he did smoke. And this was only a confirmation. His hawk like black eyes watched her. Yes they were black. Not a deep brown, black. Black wash jeans lay comfortably on his torso, held up by a silver belt. He watched her in a way that made Alice shiver from head to toe. Anyone else notice a pattern with Eminem's beats?
Q. So I was just listening to my i Tunes on shuffle and "Welcome to Detroit" by Eminem came on. After, "Same Song and Dance" by Eminem came on. I noticed that both songs have like a 3 sound loop (like the gun cocking on Welcome to Detroit and the step step clap on Same Song and Dance) anyone else notice this? I didn't really know how to explain it, I meant it was like triads of a certain sound? I don't know how to explain it.

A. same song and dance is produced by Dre. but i know what you mean. i can always tell if Em produced the song when i hear a song. he always has the simplest drum pattern..like hihats on every 2notes, same exact patterns of snares and kicks repeating over and over.. like patiently waiting, without me, hailie's song, till i collapse, mockingbird, and so many other songs have the same exact drum pattern repeating over and over. he also usually has the same structures in his beats. he has the introduction, main loops, then the instrumental slowly climbs to the climax, and then ends. like in lose yourself, the 3rd verse has that piano come in, hailie's song has the high strings at the end of his 3rd verse, patiently waiting also has that high… [cont.]

Practicing dance moves for dance lessons.?
Q. So im taking dance lessons now. Jazz dance lessons. We did what the instructors called (forget the name) that was basically two three point turns in a row with a grapevine at the end. They also did this thing.. kinda like marching. It went... Step out with your left foot, kick with your right. Step out with right food, Kick with your left. Then step to the side, and kick with your right foot to the side. Then turn around, and kick behind you with your left. If any of that made sense, my problem is that when i come out of the turn around/kick i always end up starting the step with my right instead of left again. Am i doing something wrong or does the pattern reverse every time?

Ballet and ballroom dancers - your honest opinion of figure skating?
Q. I am a figure skater. I just wanted to know what the "dance world" thought about the "skating world" . . . our body positions and music interpretation. In ballet - for instance, your "arabesque" is our "spiral". I've heard of ballet dancers cringing at our spirals. In skating, some do lift their hip up, keep their upper back or head down (sometimes close to the ice) - it's undesirable in ballet, but considered "beautiful" on the ice. Ballroom - In ice dancing, our "footsteps" are nearly completely off from floor steps, though it is still about keeping tempo/mood and patterns. As they say, they are 2 completely different worlds - though some things will be similar, some things will… [cont.]

A. Ha! I am a very good ballerina, going on 11 years. I absolutely love Ice skating. I think it is an amazing form of dance. Yes, if you were a ballerina you would be breaking some rules, but as you said it is beautiful on the ice. I know some of the greatest ice skaters in the world took Ballet, and you can tell the difference. Not because people who don't take ballet are bad. I guess it just helps with posture and hand form. I would love to BE and ice skater, but my mom actually wont let me because I would be breaking ballet rules. I don't agree with that but I do think Ice Skating and Ballet are different and shouldn't keep the same rules. I still think both are gorgeous!
